My Journey

I went to Vietnam in January 2019. I decided to travel and explore the South and Central Vietnam as the North is very cold at this time of year.

I started in Ho Chi Minh City so I could get a feel of the history and architecture. That was a great base to explore the Mekong Delta stopping at rural villages and seeing locals at work.

Next stop was Dalat. Up in the hills you could instantly feel a drop in temperature, a nice break from the heat. Here is a nature enthusiasts paradise with numerous waterfalls and mountain scenery.

I then moved up to see Hue, the Ancient Imperial City. Here it boasted intricate details in its architecture and is full of history and once again, breathtaking scenery.

Last of all was Hoi An, but not before making a few stops on the way to visit Da Nang, Lang Co and the infamous Van Hoi Pass. Upon arriving in Hoi An, the UNESCO World Heritage Site, I instantly felt a change in atmosphere. The old town was buzzing as the locals were preparing for the TET festival (lunar new year). The riverside was beaming with lanterns and families were out enjoying the festivities, traditions and fireworks. This was a very unique experience and without a doubt the highlight of my time in Vietnam.
